Recent Beauty Buys

Hello loves!

I went shopping with my mom on the weekend to Helsinki. I picked up some makeup, skincare products and repurchased a nearly ending product. Overall I’m happy with my mini haul but I wish that I would have bought summery lipstick shades. There are just so many lipsticks available that my mind couldn’t concentrate properly. Usually I make a huge research before purchasing a product. If you have any summer lipstick colors (violets or rosy shades) to recommend, I’m listening.

Without further ado, let’s get started.

I just had to buy more NYX Lip Lingeries. I really love the formula and the lipstick overall. I already own one, so I wanted to grow my collection. I picked up Exotic and Beauty Mark. Exotic is currently the only red shade in the Lip Lingerie range and because of that my eye immediately caught on it. Exotic is like a mahogany color. Beauty Mark on the other hand is a warm dark brown, described as chocolate brown. I had this sudden desire to own a darker lip option. And currently this is the darkest shade I own.

I decided to repurchase Mossa Cleansing Micellar Water. I honestly didn’t think that I would like this, I just gave it a go. I was skeptical due to the low price for a natural product. With this I remove my makeup in the evening. I like that it doesn’t dry out my skin and the fact that it’s suitable for all skin types. It has hyaluronic acid and arctic raspberry which is antioxidant. It claims to cleanse, tone and moisturize the skin but for me it’s more like cleanse and tone. I don’t personally mind that it doesn’t moisturize because I follow up with a toner anyways. And the toner I crabbed is Madara Balancing Toner for normal/combination skin. This is a product I haven’t tried before but have always been interested to do so. The only reason I bought it was for the good recommendations and that it is alcohol free. It’s supposed to refresh, control oily and dry areas of the skin and shrink pores. We’ll have have to see how it performs.

Another product from Mossa is the Mossa Skin Perfector Tinting Moiturizer in soft beige. It’s a BB cream for all skin types and with 5 benefits for the skin.

  1. Leaves skin mattified and smooths out texture (wrinkles, pores)
  2. Gives a healthy glow and evens out skin tone
  3. Hyaluronic acid moisturizes and evens out the skin surface
  4. Natural oils and shea butter nourish and protect skin
  5. Arctic plum oil revitalizes and calms dry, irritated skin

This sounded too good, of course I took it with me.

We went to The Body Shop with my mom because she wanted to buy me something for my psoriasis in my right hand. Now that the weather has been so moody and cold my psoriasis has gotten so ugly and dry. There isn’t an actual cure for it yet but it can be relieved. The sales lady recommended this The Body Shop Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm and two other products. This felt the best when I applied it on my hand. Thumbs up for the natural ingredients and let’s hope that this eases my rashes.

The star of the hole show: Smashbox Cover Shot: Ablaze. I have been eyeing on this eyeshadow palette for months and I finally got it. My mom decided to treat me and bought this for me as a graduation present. It includes eight eyeshadows with a gold-orange-red color range. It’s so beautiful. I will play around with it for a week or two and review it with swatches included. Stay tuned!

Hair Care Routine

dav

Hello loves!

Hair health is very important for me and I guess that for most of people. I have tried many hair care products trough out the years and I have been maintaining these current products for half year.

But first, let me tell you…

my hair background:

Three years ago my hair just didn’t take in any products for reasons I don’t know answer to. So, I went for natural hair care products to see if they could help me. They did and my hair did a drastic change. Now it is healthier than it was a few years ago.

My hair is undyed and all natural. Since experiencing an allergic reaction to a hair dye, I haven’t dyed my head. My natural hair color is ashy, light brown. I still miss blonde hair and I have been thinking if I just died my hair with the ombre effect.

My hair type is thin, dry, wavy and frizzy. It is a really difficult hair type to take care of. My biggest issues are the frizziness and oily scalp.

I wash my hair every 2-3 days, depending on how oily or dirty my hair feels.

I take zinc supplements for my hair and skin. Taking zinc has helped my hair become stronger and shinier. It has also helped in my acne significantly, but we are here for hair.

So, now to…

the products I use:

dav

Sante, Volume & Strength Shampoo with Bio Henna & Beer for fine and weak hair. I use this shampoo when I want more strength and structure to my hair. It contains beer, honey, henna and wheat germ. Sante shampoo is free of silicones and parabens, free of artificial colors, fragrances and preservatives, mineral oil and sulphates.

Sante, Anti-Frizz Moisturizing Shampoo with Bio Rose & Silk Protein for dry and damaged hair. This shampoo is great for when I have dry and damaged feel to my hair. It contains rose hip, rose extract and wheat germ.

dav

Sante, Moisturizing Conditioner with Bio Mango & Aloe for dry and damaged hair. This conditioner gives hair a healthy, radiant appearance. It is extremely moisturizing and it has a thick creamy formula. It contains mango which is rich in vitamin C, aloe vera which is moisturizing and repairing, and it also contains B5 vitamin which gives hair elasticity and resilience. This conditioner is silicone free.

Maria Nila, Structure Repair Conditioner. This conditioner is for damaged, dry and chemically treated hair. It detangles, softens, moisturizes and lessens electricity. It contains algae which makes my hair really shiny and soft. All Maria Nila products are designed to protect the hair against heat styling, UV rays and free radicals. All their products are also vegan, sulphate and paraben free.

Maria Nila, True Soft Masque. A hair mask for when my frizziness is at it’s worst. It is for dry hair that has that frizz and static electricity. It contains argan oil which is great for that silky smooth finish and shine. After every use my hair looks amazing and I love it.

dav

KC Professional, No Nothing Very Sensitive Moisture Mist. I use this after I have washed my hair as a leave in conditioner. I use this also when my hair is feeling dry or lacking moisture between washes. It has avocado oil and lot of glycerin. I love that it doesn’t weight down my thin hair and it’s great for my easily drying ends. A mist is so easy to use and I keep repurchasing it. This is my fourth bottle and it last a really long time.

Unique Haircare, Argan Hair Oil for dry and colored hair. An certified organic product with argan oil and vitamin F which helps hair stay vibrant and reduces hair breakage. I use 2-3 drops of this for the ends of my hair after the KC Professional Moisture Mist. This can also be used for nails. Argan oil makes hair shiny and silky smooth. This hair oil contains no silicones and no alcohol.

dav

Batiste, Dry Shampoo, Original. The legendary and famous dry shampoo. When I’m too lazy to wash my hair, this comes along. I want to try out the Blush and the Eden scents next.

Cutrin Professional, CHOOZ Heat Protection Spray 200°C. When I style my hair I spray this in sections before straightening or curling my hair. It has UV protection and protects the hair against humidity.

KC Professional, No Nothing Very Sensitive & Super Strong Hairspray. I use this after I have straightened or curled my hair. It has an extremely strong and the hairstyle holds for the entire day, even the day after.

Lavera Re-Energizing Sleeping Cream Review

Hello guys!

Organic skincare has taken over my beauty cabinet. One of Lavera’s newest product, Re-Energizing Sleeping Cream has made it there. I got it in my hands in the Organic Beauty fair with some other things which I wrote about few weeks ago.

dav

Just letting you know that I have used this only less than a month, but to me in that time you can tell if the product is right for you. I fell in love with this on the first time I used it. I applied it after my usual night time routine. The scent brings to mind a coconut water and vanilla mixture, so delicious and fresh. It applied like a mousse and absorbed quickly onto my skin. The consistency isn’t too heavy which I love.

My skin felt plump, soft, smooth and renewed in the morning after. It didn’t break me out. It’s hydrating but light enough for my combination skin.

The Lavera Re-Energizing Sleeping Cream claims to have 5 over-night effects

  • Promoting skin’s natural regeneration
  • Revitalizes skin
  • Combats signs of fatigue
  • Provides intense moisture
  • Reveals smooth skin

It contains hyaluronic acid, olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E and other great quality nutritious ingredients.

I am always scared to try new products because my skin is pretty sensitive and acnetic. My stress also shows on my skin easily so this night cream has been much needed as it is antioxidant. And I feel like this has made my skin younger looking, given a more radiant complexion.

dav

One dislike, I hate the packaging. It is too sturdy for my taste and it is oddly masculine but at the same time like a mature lady, lol. Maybe it’s the color and the heaviness combined. But I can ignore that because I truly like this product, and so does my skin.

This retails for 22 euros. You can find it in most stores in the natural cosmetics section.

I would rate this product 5/5

Would I repurchase this: Yes

Organic Beauty

Hi loves!

Pro Luonnonkosmetiikka Ry runs an annual organic beauty fair here in Finland. Last weekend I got a chance to visit there for the first time. I must say that I loved it so much.

Organic beauty is something that I respect and value. There is so much more than just using organic and natural ingredient, it’s about the ecological factor, non-animal testing, not harming our bodies with harmful chemicals and such.

I decided to invite my mom to go with me. We had a great conversation about organic food and natural beauty products. We even had a chat with one of the sales girl, who was so nice and beautiful. The conversation was of organic products being more at reach nowadays, because the demand has grown. So we had a great time and bought some products, of course.

dav

First things that went to my shopping cart where MADARA skincare products. I got two mini size masks, MADARA Detox Ultra Purifying Mask and SOS Instant Moisture + Radiance Hydra Mask. The third product is MADARA Balance Birch Algae Facial Soap, which is supposed to balance the skin with birch and seaweed which are loaded with vitamins and minerals.

dav

I already own Sante hair care products and have liked them so far, so I bought more. First one is Sante Bio Rose & Silk Protein Moisturizing Shampoo for dry and damaged hair. The second one is Sante Bio Henna & Beer Volume Shampoo for fine and weak hair.

dav

I got gifted this Flow Cosmetics Organic Lavender Essential Oil. Lavender helps to relax and it also helps to soothe muscle pain and period cramps when diluted in base oil. Lavera Re-Energizing Sleeping Cream was on my shopping list since it launched. It revitalizes skin overnight and brightens while moisturizing.

dav

Lastly this boy. This is Activated Green Clay that you drink, yes drink! It is rich in minerals and it’s good for your stomach, intestines, bones, exhaustion and it can be used for detox purposes. This was something new to me and I felt like I need to try this since it helps in so many things, specially tiredness.

Can’t wait to test out all these products! I will do a review on most of the products after using them a decent amount of time for a proper review. I am already in love with the Lavera Sleeping Cream though.

Have you tried any organic beauty products? What are your thoughts on it?

My Sunday Beauty Routine

dav

Sunday is the day of relaxation and preparing yourself for the start of the next week, at least for me.

My Sundays beauty routine focuses more to the evening and concentrates on masks in particular.

So my Sundays morning beauty routine is actually pretty simple. I don’t wash my face in fact. I have pretty sensitive skin so I just leave my skin to be, calm itself down and suck all the rich serums and creams from the evening before. It sounds gross but my skin likes this once a week brake.

As the evening approaching I start with my hair. Two hours before showering I lather my hair in Pure Organic Coconut Oil (any organic coconut oil will do). My hair is pretty dry and naturally wavy but also thin. That’s why I do this only once a week.

In the shower I scrub all the dead skin from my body with the Flow Cosmetics Coconut & Lemon Himalayan Salt Scrub. I tell you, the scent of this is so divine. It’s like a very lemony, rich cheesecake scent, oh my. The Himalayan salt helps remove toxins out of the body and the coconut oil moisturizes the skin so well that you don’t actually need to put body lotion afterwards. This is a huge plus because I am very lazy when it comes to moisturizing my hole body.

For the face I use Flow Cosmetics Lingonberry Enzymatic Peeling Powder Mask when I want a gentle exfoliation. The Enzymatic mask is a powder that you just combine with water and mix into a paste. I add rose hip oil into it when I want a more moisturizing effect. By doing that it is a moisturizing mask and an exfoliator all at once. And when I want a more effective exfoliation I use the Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula. The consistency of the Clinique exfoliator is grainy and creamy. It also has coconut oil so it’s slightly moisturizing too. I love both of these products and I go with either one depending on my skins condition.

Since the enzymatic mask already has kaolin in it there’s no need to use the next product sent from the beauty gods afterwards.

So after the Clinique exfoliator I usually follow up with the Flow Cosmetics Cloudberry-Mint Facial Mask Powder, which has green and rhassoul clay in it. This is also a powder that you just mix with some water in a cup and it turns into a paste. The Cloudberry-Mint Mask sucks up the sebum really good and keeps pimples at bay. If I have ever felt too lazy to put this face mask on, I notice a drastic change on my skin and it’s not a good one.

Whether I’m feeling dry I use my beloved Korres Wild Rose Instant Brightening Mask. I am so happy to have discovered this mask! It’s soothing, moisturizing and brightening. This mask is great to use when skin is irritated. The rose oil calms down the redness and it makes your skin feel super soft.

After the cleanse I just follow up with my usual skin care routine. I will do a more specific skin care routine after I have found the products that really work for my skin and that I really do love.
