Midsummer Sunset Makeup Look

Hello loves!

I wanted to create a makeup look for the celebration of Midsummer Day. In Finland Midsummer Day is a special day, especially in the nort where the sun doesn’t actually set. In the northern part of Finland the day is actually two days long, which is incredible and magical. And here in the south where I live, the sun sets at 2am and rises up again at 4am.

This is why I made a sunset inspired look, for the sun that doesn’t set. Hope you like my makeup look because it’s my first one on my blog. Happy Midsummer Day!

Monthly Favourites / April 2017

Happy May everyone!

This is my first monthly favourites on my blog, so excited.

I admit that I’m a big fan of monthly favourites blog posts because they are interesting due to their personal fact. It’s nice to see what different people have been loving the past month. Therefore I would like to share you mine.

Konjac Sponge Aloe Vera

I have been washing my face once a day (in the evening) with this Aloe Vera sponge. My skin is also quite sensitive, acneic and dries out easily. The aloe vera helps to soothe, moisturize, even out the skin tone and make dull skin more vibrant. The sponge really helps to properly cleanse my pores.

I let the konjac sponge soak in warm water for a few minutes while removing my makeup. After that I dampen my face, apply a cleanser on the wet sponge and start cleansing my face with it. When done, I rinse my face and squeeze the excess water out of the sponge and let it dry hanging from its string. Lastly I continue with my regular evening skincare routine.

MADARA Detox Ultra Purifying Mask

This, my new favourite mask! My forehead is like one of my problem areas, always clogged pores no matter what. But this is a true detox for your face, that’s why it’s called Detox Mask. It has honestly cleared most of my acne. I need to repurchase this in normal size because the mini version is almost used up.

You only need a thin layer of this and have to let it do its thing for 5-10 minutes. I have used this twice a week. It is suitable for oily and combination skin, skin with large pores, inflamed skin and acne skin.

This is a strong mask and does let your skin a bit red after use (this also reads on the product packaging). So I recommend to use this in the evening. Just remember to moisturize well afterwards and the redness will be all gone by the morning. If you have sensitive skin (or any type) I suggest to test any kind of mask in a small area first for possible irritation.

Lavera Re-Energizing Sleeping Cream

This has made my skin go from rough to smooth. It has also made my skin brighter, more moisturized and the redness has calmed down to a more even complexion. I have made a review of this and written more precisely of its benefits for my skin.

Flow Cosmetics Mineral Makeup Powder, Ivory

I have been applying this mineral powder when I go out. It’s so easy to apply and build up. It makes my skin look so dewy and bright. I like that it’s talc free and doesn’t have any unnecessary ingredients. It also lets acne skin breathe because it doesn’t clog pores. This mineral powder comes in cool and warm tone shades, so it’s easy to find the best one suited for your skin tone.

Clipper Tea, Organic Orange & Coconut Infusion

This smells like a true paradise to me and the scent is so good. It tastes fruity and sweet. I drink this in the morning for a vibrant start for the day. The ingredients are: Honeybush, orange peel, pineapple, coconut.

Taboo TV series

The events are happening during the War of 1812. James Keziah Delaney (Tom Hardy) returns to London after hearing his father has passed. His intentions are to rebuild his late father’s shipping empire. The government and other competitor are trying to stop Delaney’s plans at any cost.

I absolutely love this series, hooked. I have been binge watching this with my boyfriend. We watched the hole season in three days or so. Oops!

The show is mysterious, dark and brutal, and it’s all well executed. It has awesome actors and the characters are even better.

And the best part… At the end of every episode you just can’t keep of thinking: “What will happen next? I need to know”.

Style inspiration, Allana Davison

Allana Davison is a youtuber who does beauty, makeup, fashion and lifestyle related videos and blog. She is so cool and I absolutely love her style. Her fashion hauls are the best, she is very good at combining clothes. I can describe her style as elegant, chic and edgy. I have had such an inspiration to change my style thanks to Allana.

These were my favourites for the month of April. Till next time!

Organic Beauty

Hi loves!

Pro Luonnonkosmetiikka Ry runs an annual organic beauty fair here in Finland. Last weekend I got a chance to visit there for the first time. I must say that I loved it so much.

Organic beauty is something that I respect and value. There is so much more than just using organic and natural ingredient, it’s about the ecological factor, non-animal testing, not harming our bodies with harmful chemicals and such.

I decided to invite my mom to go with me. We had a great conversation about organic food and natural beauty products. We even had a chat with one of the sales girl, who was so nice and beautiful. The conversation was of organic products being more at reach nowadays, because the demand has grown. So we had a great time and bought some products, of course.

First things that went to my shopping cart where MADARA skincare products. I got two mini size masks, MADARA Detox Ultra Purifying Mask and SOS Instant Moisture + Radiance Hydra Mask. The third product is MADARA Balance Birch Algae Facial Soap, which is supposed to balance the skin with birch and seaweed which are loaded with vitamins and minerals.

dav

I already own Sante hair care products and have liked them so far, so I bought more. First one is Sante Bio Rose & Silk Protein Moisturizing Shampoo for dry and damaged hair. The second one is Sante Bio Henna & Beer Volume Shampoo for fine and weak hair.

dav

I got gifted this Flow Cosmetics Organic Lavender Essential Oil. Lavender helps to relax and it also helps to soothe muscle pain and period cramps when diluted in base oil. Lavera Re-Energizing Sleeping Cream was on my shopping list since it launched. It revitalizes skin overnight and brightens while moisturizing.

dav

Lastly this boy. This is Activated Green Clay that you drink, yes drink! It is rich in minerals and it’s good for your stomach, intestines, bones, exhaustion and it can be used for detox purposes. This was something new to me and I felt like I need to try this since it helps in so many things, specially tiredness.

Can’t wait to test out all these products! I will do a review on most of the products after using them a decent amount of time for a proper review. I am already in love with the Lavera Sleeping Cream though.

Have you tried any organic beauty products? What are your thoughts on it?

My Sunday Beauty Routine

dav

Sunday is the day of relaxation and preparing yourself for the start of the next week, at least for me.

My Sundays beauty routine focuses more to the evening and concentrates on masks in particular.

So my Sundays morning beauty routine is actually pretty simple. I don’t wash my face in fact. I have pretty sensitive skin so I just leave my skin to be, calm itself down and suck all the rich serums and creams from the evening before. It sounds gross but my skin likes this once a week brake.

As the evening approaching I start with my hair. Two hours before showering I lather my hair in Pure Organic Coconut Oil (any organic coconut oil will do). My hair is pretty dry and naturally wavy but also thin. That’s why I do this only once a week.

In the shower I scrub all the dead skin from my body with the Flow Cosmetics Coconut & Lemon Himalayan Salt Scrub. I tell you, the scent of this is so divine. It’s like a very lemony, rich cheesecake scent, oh my. The Himalayan salt helps remove toxins out of the body and the coconut oil moisturizes the skin so well that you don’t actually need to put body lotion afterwards. This is a huge plus because I am very lazy when it comes to moisturizing my hole body.

For the face I use Flow Cosmetics Lingonberry Enzymatic Peeling Powder Mask when I want a gentle exfoliation. The Enzymatic mask is a powder that you just combine with water and mix into a paste. I add rose hip oil into it when I want a more moisturizing effect. By doing that it is a moisturizing mask and an exfoliator all at once. And when I want a more effective exfoliation I use the Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula. The consistency of the Clinique exfoliator is grainy and creamy. It also has coconut oil so it’s slightly moisturizing too. I love both of these products and I go with either one depending on my skins condition.

Since the enzymatic mask already has kaolin in it there’s no need to use the next product sent from the beauty gods afterwards.

So after the Clinique exfoliator I usually follow up with the Flow Cosmetics Cloudberry-Mint Facial Mask Powder, which has green and rhassoul clay in it. This is also a powder that you just mix with some water in a cup and it turns into a paste. The Cloudberry-Mint Mask sucks up the sebum really good and keeps pimples at bay. If I have ever felt too lazy to put this face mask on, I notice a drastic change on my skin and it’s not a good one.

Whether I’m feeling dry I use my beloved Korres Wild Rose Instant Brightening Mask. I am so happy to have discovered this mask! It’s soothing, moisturizing and brightening. This mask is great to use when skin is irritated. The rose oil calms down the redness and it makes your skin feel super soft.

After the cleanse I just follow up with my usual skin care routine. I will do a more specific skin care routine after I have found the products that really work for my skin and that I really do love.

Do you have any favorite Sunday pampering products?
